The DC Jobs Council is a coalition of job training providers, advocates, employers, labor representatives, research institutes, social service agencies and funders who advocate for a DC workforce system that meets the needs of all DC residents and that responds to the local economy. We use a multi-faceted strategy that includes the provision of policy materials, advocacy to policy makers and city agencies, public education, organizing and coalition building. Together, we work to make an effective and efficient workforce system a city priority – one where every DC resident has the training and educational opportunities necessary to succeed in jobs that pay self-sufficiency wages and meet the skill needs of the region’s employers.
