Employment and Quality Jobs
WOW believes everyone has the right to quality jobs that pay a decent wage, provide health and retirement benefits and paid family leave for all workers. To ensure quality employment for women workers, WOW advocates for such policies as:
- Strengthening equal opportunity hiring under federally funded contracts, including through new, up to date higher goals for women’s employment on construction projects.
- Ensuring equal pay for women through enactment of policies such as the Paycheck Fairness Act.
- Increasing and indexing the minimum wage.
- Authorizing the Healthy Families Act, this would enable both full-time and part-time workers to accrue paid sick time that they can use when they, their children or other family members are ill or injured.
