Nearly 60% of the low-wage workers in this country are women. Living from paycheck to paycheck, they are stuck in low-skill jobs that pay poor wages, do not include benefits, and are the first to be cut in a shaky economy. Without wages that need to accurately reflect the cost of living in their communities and workplace benefits that enable them to live healthy productive lives, many thousands of American families will be consigned to a life of poverty.

For more than 40 years, WOW has helped women learn to earn with programs emphasizing literacy, technical and nontraditional skills, welfare-to-work transition, career development, and retirement security. Nationally, WOW engages in organizing, research, and advocacy to design, implement, and advocate for programs and policies that move low-income families toward economic independence. To accomplish our goals WOW needs your help.

Your gifts will help WOW fight for equitable pay for workers of all ages, develop programs at the national and state level to prepare people for jobs that lead to self-sufficiency, and advocate for public policies to raise family’ incomes.
