Support a DC Project
Help the District’s low-income women benefit from the city’s economic boom.
WOW’s Washington Area Women in the Trades project – a collaborative effort with the YWCA of the National Capital Area and the Community Services Agency of the Metropolitan Washington – is preparing local women to work in the trades. To date, 20 women have graduated from this pre-apprenticeship program and been placed in local apprenticeships.
Your gift can help WOW prepare more low-income women for careers that will support themselves and their families.
- $ 300 will cover the cost of one woman’s lunch and transportation needs during the 12-week program.

- $ 75 will cover the cost of construction math and reading textbooks for 5 women.
