Need customized statistics? Need additional information? WOW produces and culls statistics which demonstrate what people need to achieve economic security and why, trains service providers, educates individuals, assists employers and works with the US, state and local governments on policy.

All of WOW’s work is marked by a strong research capacity. Over the years WOW has developed research-based studies, fact sheets and policy briefs in addition to comprehensive and innovative economic security tools.

WOW’s Basic Economic Security Tables™ (BEST) Index and the Elder Economic Security Standard™ Index (Elder Index) measure the income workers and elders need to achieve security in specific cities, counties and states, and reflect a modern economy and contemporary understanding of how families achieve financial stability.

For nearly half a century, WOW has worked throughout the country and in its home community of Washington, DC to fight for programs and resources to prepare women and girls for jobs that will support them and their families.  WOW has organized coalitions across the country to improve access for women and girls to education and training, open doors to non-traditional jobs, and link women to the work supports they need to improve their economic well-being.
